The characteristic of isostatic pressing is similar to the principle of isostatic pressing method, which is axial pressing. Axial compression molding is one-way or two-way pressure pressing, the friction between the powder and the mold is relatively large, and the pressure will cause pressure loss along the pressing direction, making the density of each part of the green body uneven. In isostatic pressing, the pressure transmitted by the liquid medium is equal in all directions. The deformation of the elastic mold when it is under the pressure of the liquid medium is transmitted to the powder in the mold. The friction between the powder and the mold wall is small, the force on the green body is uniform, the density distribution is uniform, and the product performance is greatly improved.

 

Wet isostatic pressing encloses the pre-pressed billet in an elastic plastic or rubber mold, puts it into a high-pressure cylinder after sealing, and presses and shapes the billet through liquid transfer.

 

The elastic mold is semi-fixed by dry isostatic pressing, not immersed in the liquid medium, but sealed by the upper and lower pistons. The pressure pump injects the liquid medium between the high-pressure cylinder and the pressurized rubber, and the pressure is transmitted through the liquid and the pressurized rubber to form the green body under pressure.

 

Cold isostatic pressing is an isostatic pressing method for forming workpieces at room temperature. Hot isostatic pressing is a special sintering method that refers to the isostatic molding and sintering of workpieces under high temperature and high pressure. Hot isostatic pressing is mainly used in the molding of high-performance powder material products, such as industrial production of powder metallurgy superalloys, powder metallurgy high-speed steel, ceramic materials, etc.
